A King's Soul Justice could feel his head pounding and his lungs itching for a smoke. He had been working most of the afternoon and it was so busy in the bar that he hadn't had the opportunity to go grab a break, but there was a good reason for that one. Even though Justice was supposed to be packing for his trip, he ended up here. In the bar. Working Blake's shift. Dirty bastard seemed to have skipped out for some reason or another, but he couldn't get ahold of him no matter how many times he called his cell. The worst part was that Blake lived in the bar itself so him missing work made it all the more ridiculous. Justice wasn't going to say it, but he was somewhat worried confused as to where he could have been.
"Knight!" Justice shouted, deciding not to wallow in his thoughts any longer. The pink digimon suddenly scurried into the room, his pink ears barely reaching the counter-level at he looked up to Justice. "Man the bar for me for a couple minutes alright? I need a smoke before I bite someone's head off," His words were curt, which Knight took as an indication that he really did need a smoke. Really it wasn't that Knight didn't like watching the bar, but that Justice didn't trust him to for very long. There was a little ramp close to the counter on the bar-tender's side that made it where the digimon could easily serve customers, but it was his mouth that caused problems. Knight had the ridiculous habit of telling ungodly tales of his valiance and strength. Justice was really in need of a smoke though. Really really in need.
As the young man walked out back he already heard Knight shouting, "Alright anybody need anything? I'm Knight!" A sigh escaped his lips, but Justice wasn't in the mood to beat the shit out of Knight. Whatever was going on with Blake had Justice so scattered he could hardly keep himself together enough to work. At the end of the week he was going to leave for Rome though and by then he wanted all the shit in his life to be worked out. At least worked out enough so he didn't have anything to distract him from keeping his championship. Justice still wanted to be the best and no one would take that ranking from him without one hell of a fight. Outside the night was cold and the air was thick with a chilled fog. Justice couldn't even see down the alley.
"Damn," Justice uttered as he pulled out a cigarette. The soft orange flame of the lighter came out for mere seconds before Justice slipped it back into his pocket. He had been smoking for so long that often he didn't spend much time at it when he did want a smoke. He had turned into a chain smoker so getting through a single cigarette didn't really take him any time at all. Letting out a breath of smoke, Justice imagined all of his troubles easing out just like a puff of smoke, but it didn't really help him relax at all. "Fucker. Even when you aren't here you're just causing me trouble. I swear." And talking to himself didn't really help him feel any better about the situation at all. Neither did cussing. Before he even realized it, Justice had finished his cigarette. The man looked at the bud, wondering where the time went. Where the time always went. Angrily, Justice threw down the remains of his smoke and let out a shout.

NOT GONNA GET US Starting from here, let's make a promise you and me, let's just be honest we're gonna run, nothing can stop us even the night that falls all around us

As he strolled down the back alleys, Blake tried pretty hard not to think about how much trouble he was going to be in once he got home. Running late, missing a shift, probably making Justus pick up that missed shift... well it generally didn't bode well. He had tried to make it a little more manageable by not answering his cell, but now that Justus had stopped trying him on it he suddenly realized that going off the grid entirely was... well... a bad plan.
The young man pulled his phone from his pocket one more time to stare at it, wondering if he should call. "Quit staring at it. If you want to talk to him then you should just call. Though it's not like we won't be back soon at this rate. That is, we will be back soon if you stop pausing to stare at your phone every five minutes," The floating digimon remarked with a sigh. He had been rather quiet most of the float home, but Blake was pulling out the worst in him. "You act like a love sick puppy about him sometimes. It's gross. Snap out of it already."
"Oh shut up and keep moving," Blake muttered sourly, returning his phone to his pocket with a huff. It would be better if he just came back unannounced and took all the shouting and fighting that Justus wanted to dish out. Calling would just mean he'd get a little now and more later, and somehow that didn't sound particularly fun at all. Once he calmed down though Blake would have to give Justus the gift he had went out of his way for. A week ago he ordered it and they finally finished it today, which was good because Justus had to leave for the tournament soon.
The memory made Blake's heart ache a little. He would have to go back to London while Justus was away though and he wasn't going to flip-flop about that decision. The gift though, Blake thought as he pulled the box out of his pocket. Justus might not like it because it was one of those vintage types of things, but Blake figured it would be best if he got him something special for good luck in the tournament. It was an old-style pocket watch with an engraving inside that said 'Legend Always'.
With a sudden bitter tone, Blake muttered something as he put the box back in his pocket, "Love sick puppy. Yggdrasil, Gear, do you really think I could even love that guy if I-" A sound cut Blake off and his eyes went wide. It was the sound of Justus letting out a shout. Was he in trouble!? It didn't take Blake long to bolt through the alley towards the bar.
"Riiight. Totally couldn't ever love that guy," Hagurumon replied, rolling his eyes. Though his partner had been in such a rush to confront the man, Hagurumon just knew that the shout was probably one of frustration. Justus was pretty good about being loud, especially when he was angry at something. The digimon slowly floated after his partner, anticipating a full brawl once Justus saw Blake entirely unharmed and whatnot.
As Blake rounded the corner he came face-to-face with the man he was so worried about and realized rather quickly he probably looked foolish. "W-Why were you shouting?" Blake managed, feeling a little ridiculous.

A King's Soul Letting out his frustrations with just a shout was never enough. Justice wanted to punch someone or get into some serious fight. This was one of the man's serious downfalls because, when upset enough, hardly anything could prevent him from tearing apart anything in his path. People, digimon, or anything else for that matter, it really didn't make a single bit of difference. Justice clenched his fists and tried really hard not to punch the nearest wall just to let off some steam. If it was just about Blake being gone this one day an unreachable then perhaps he would have been over-reacting, but there was a lot more to it that the man didn't really want to think about.
Luckily, just as he was about to fall into the quick sand that was his anger, he heard something that was a perfect distraction. Someone to be more exact. The dark-haired man came bursting around the corner, looking concerned and entirely ridiculous. When Blake spoke, Justice had to contain the smirk that was trying so hard to come to the surface. Blake was always very good at making a massive fool of himself and it got pretty hard not to tease him. Secretly Justice was really just relieved that the other man was safe, but... Why hadn't he answered his phone!?
Scowl already at home on Justice's face, it didn't take him long to start pushing up his sleeves. "I was shouting because I need something to throttle. Now that you're here come a little closer!" The blond motioned Blake over menacingly. "Why the fuck didn't you answer your phone dickhead? I've been calling and calling! In case you forgot, you work here too!" During his ranting Justice noticed the floating figure of Hagurumon slipping into sight rather slowly, clearly not concerned about whatever his partner had been concerned about. The champion rolled his eyes and turned his back to look at the bar.
"Sometimes I just wanna punch you. Maybe we should settle your tardiness with a fight?" Justice almost laughed at the concept. Fighting Blake would be like fighting a wet noodle. They got into their little tussles, but a real fight would just be humorous. At least it would to Justice, but that might have been because he was pretty full of himself. "Knight is in there watching the bar. I don't want to leave him alone for too long because he tends to tell some awful bullshit to all the customers..."
Looking over his shoulder, Justice muttered sharply, "Wanna tell me what you were doing before Knight pisses someone off?"

NOT GONNA GET US Starting from here, let's make a promise you and me, let's just be honest we're gonna run, nothing can stop us even the night that falls all around us

With Justus making it so clear that Blake was in trouble from the first words he uttered it made Blake wonder when he could give the man his gift. Not now, certainly. Perhaps Blake wouldn't make an effort to give it at all, instead stowing it in Justus' bag when he left. That might be easier, the man thought with a deep frown.
It didn't take long for the frustrations to really burst out of Justus though, the man uttering menacingly while lobbing some insults. To anyone else it would probably look like Justus and Blake were enemies, not the confused lovers they actually were. The words swimming about in his mind made Blake a little dizzy. Who could say that lover was even an accurate term in this particular case. At the very least it didn't seem right.
All through Blake's scolding, Gear was snickering. This was why Blake needed to listen to him more, Gear thought with an all knowing expression. It wasn't just Blake though because Gear knew everyone could benefit from his grand wisdom. The Hagurumon spent a short time pondering this as he buzzed about Blake, taking in all of Justus' anger with more occasional snickers.
"A fight? Hah," Blake started, knowing it would never really happen. "Yeah, that'd make you feel pretty good right?" A fight probably would make Justus feel better, but not if his foe was Blake. The scrawny man wasn't exactly used to physical fighting, so he'd be defeated far too easily. Fights weren't fun for Justus unless they were at least somewhat challenging. This was all putting aside the fact that Blake probably couldn't bring himself to attack Justus seriously.
"Oh god, wait," Gear said suddenly, as if alarmed. He floated his little body over to Justus and began to fly around the man's head. "Knight is in there without supervision, well that sounds deadly amusing to me. You two just talk as long as you need and I'll.. I mean... I'll watch Knight to make sure he doesn't do anything stupid," He snickered a few more times before disappearing into the bar.
Blake watched Gear go with a slight shake of the head. Justus wasn't going to let Gear watch Knight really because he didn't trust either of them. "What I was doing isn't technically your business, but if you must know I was running errands. Because you'll be leaving soon." The frown across his face was pretty artificial, but he hoped it would keep Justus from prying anymore. It wasn't time to give the gift yet, so what he was actually doing would be a secret.

A King's Soul Justice really wanted to roll his eyes and punch Blake upside the head. Not just because he was late and worried confused the blond, but because he was acting weird now. Weird as in he was thinking too much without talking about most of it. That was one of the things Justice really didn't like about Blake now. When he brooded like that it was pretty hard to get him in bed.
Justice always had his way though. In fact that broody quality was one of the reasons that Justice hooked up with Blake in the first place. It meant the man wouldn't foul up a good fling with emotional vomit. Justice wondered if their little fling was still on the same terms as when it began, secretly knowing that something must have changed. Like this pest! Justice thought as Gear flew around Blake. Annoying distraction, that digimon was. Gear seemed to think it was just so amusing that Justice was annoyed. "Damned digimon," The man muttered under his breath as Blake began to speak.
"Yeah a fight would be grand," Justice remarked sarcastically. "I'd lay you flat on your ass in less than a minute." And he really believed that to be true. Blake never seemed the type to get in fights, let alone win any. The man could hardly win in discussions, so fists seemed an even less likely way for him to triumph. But then Blake's digimon buzzed over and started yammering on about Knight. It took a few good swats before the little thing distracted itself off into the bar.
"You need to work on keeping him out of my hair before I punch his dumb little shiny face into a wall," Justice threatened towards Blake once his digimon slipped inside. Gear and Knight got along too well. That bugged Justice too. The man paused awkwardly and let out a soft sigh. He did need to get back in soon because Knight wasn't very trust-worthy at the bar, but something was bugging him. Something about Blake.
"So really. What's.... up?" He asked slowly, knowing he was going to regret it later. The legendary man wasn't good at shit like this. To cover his ass he threw in a quick, "And hurry up, because now we've got two pests in there to worry about."
